How to Get a Partnership with a University

   

Manage the relationship. Hold regular meetings to discuss the opportunities and needs you and the university have, and plan how you can work together to meet them. Partnerships take time to cultivate, but by taking an active role, you can ensure that an academic partnership enhances your learning environment and helps you achieve your goals. Best of all, this talent group requires no expense – minus the time and effort your team has to put in to get students to contribute. Over time, this will increase student interest and constantly keep a deep bank of tech-savvy talent at your fingertips. In addition, there is the added benefit of testing new solutions for your products and services with a group of students who may have a less simple or routine (read: innovative) view of what your company does. As a small business or start-up, anything you can do to connect with talented students before they graduate is a plus. An even bigger advantage is that you don`t have to spend as much time training people once they join your company. In a company with 10,000 employees, a slow employee can be absorbed without significantly affecting operations. In a five-person team, that fifth employee accounts for 20% of your productivity – you need to know they can get started right away. Once the world opens up again and students return to campus and classroom, building an international partnership can give students the opportunity to return to the world by continuing their studies in another country and spending a semester or two discovering a new culture beyond that in a way that short study trips and tourism can`t really reach. Typically, we envision a partnership with a university in two ways: it is either a corporate social responsibility game to help a region, or an initiative to attract interns when the company offers access and expertise in exchange for discounted help. These are just a few of the many forms of academic partnerships with industry that create financial, operational, reputational and intellectual benefits. Accreditation ensures that the establishment you wish to visit is regularly checked by an independent agency for the quality of the training they offer. Regional accreditations are considered stricter and are awarded to academic institutions. National accreditations are granted to schools that focus on professional development, technical skills or religious education. Regionally accredited schools generally allow for an easy transfer of college credits between regionally accredited schools. Nationally accredited schools focus on preparing students for a particular profession or career. A nationally accredited school cannot award credits and its credits are less likely to be recognized by other institutions. An education partner ensures that your employees` educational investments are well tailored to the needs of your industry.
